"Exchanges and performances" is an artistic movement which was created by Claude LESUR in 1997 from the concept of crossed inspiration. What is more mysterious than the alchemy of artistic inspiration ? We can analyze its roots and the influences which gave birth to artistic creation but the mechanisms of creation remain obscure. The movement "Exchanges and performances" did not fear to break the mystery and shed light on artistic creation.

First the artists have exchanges trough simultaneous creation on the same theme not collectively but individually. Each artist keeps his own style but they are all inspired by the same theme like the chinese artists who met to create together and inspire each other. This process helps to combine the oriental spirit and the occidental spirit. Then the performance is to create in front of spectators who arouse suspense and excitement perceived by the artists. They create in front of the public, each artist translating in his own style the theme which is given as a start.

Three painters : Claude LESUR, Alain TOUSSAINT, Lisa ZIRNER and a sculptor Jean-François BROSSIN worked on the theme of bi-sexuality and the theme of yin and yang.

The same artists (see above) created on the theme of football int the workshop of Lisa ZIRNER inspird by the world cup.

Claude LESUR and Alain TOUSSAINT explored the link between shapes and colours in the stting of the nights of correspondance in Grignan july 4th 1998 with the participation of Beatrice NOWAK who read the "Vowels"of RIMBAUD and "The language of shapes and colours" by KANDINSKY.

The painters Antoni BACHUR, Jean-François BROSSIN, Claude LESUR and Yarmila VESOVIC-ROUS expressed in Gallery BERNANOS on 15th november 1999 their vision of the fifth sense from the tapestry "The lady with the unicorn".

The same artists (see above) on june 11th and 12th in the gallery ART FORUM (quai des tournelles, Paris) with the participation of Alain KREMSKY (composer, pianist, percussionist) and the actress Sophie DEMMLER created an improvised show about the meeting between painting theatre and music on the theme of the eternal woman.

December 8th 2001 at the association "Chez nous" wthe the participation of Alain KREMSKY (composer and pianist) with Mary-Ann WARRICK (soprano) with Olga VASSILIEVA(pianist) and with Hyam ZAYTOUM (reader of the group "Les livreurs"), the painters Thierry BRETON, Claude LESUR, Yarmila VESOVIC-ROUS improvised works inspired by medieval Irish songs.

February 10th 2002 int the "salon de musique" of Wally KARVENO (composer and pianist) with the participation of Sophie DEMMLER (actress) and the painters Thierry BRETON, Claude LESUR and Yarmila VESOVIC-ROUS, who improvised on erotic poems by Pierre LOUYS, E. HOCQUARD, Wally KARVENO, Lucie DELARUE-MARDRUS.
